Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 Hindus believe that good behavior leads to better life circumstances, and bad behavior leads to worse circumstances. We must reject the physical world and believe in Brahman, which is nonphysical and formless. #2 Aristotle believed in ideal forms, which are perfect shapes that exist in the nonphysical realm. Humans can access these shapes through meditation. Everything in the physical world exists as a shadow of these ideal forms. The material cause explains the object’s form or shape. The efficient cause explains how the object functions or behaves. The final cause explains why an object is the way it is. -> Aristotle was a student of Plato, and he disagreed with his teacher on just about everything. He was not interested in perfection and the world of perfect forms, but rather just wanted to understand how things work. He believed that every existing thing is explained by four causes: the material cause, the formal cause, the efficient cause, and the final cause. #3 Margaret Cavendish was a 17th-century English philosopher who argued that only the physical world is real. She did so by arguing that all reality is in motion and that immaterial objects cannot move. She concluded that since materialism requires motion, immaterial objects must not be real. #4 Berkeley argued that the only thing that exists is mind. The physical world is an illusion, and humans can only perceive minds.

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 The year is 1979, and I announce that I have in my possession an electronic device that can communicate with another person on the other side of the world. I call it a cell phone! you would probably think I was crazy. #2 The steps of a good man or woman are directed by the Lord. I’ve missed some steps, but I’ve also learned a lot in the process. I wholeheartedly believe that life is more about progression than perfection, so let’s be H. O. T. with each other and learn more about God’s great plan for us as we walk by faith. #3 We all have beliefs, standards, philosophies, and habits, and these are all based on some sort of foundation. We need to establish some things on a ground level before we can build anything else. #4 A foundation is essential to hold a structure in place, but it does so much more than that. It is strong, deep, and dense enough to last the lifetime of the building sitting on top of it.

Psychic Classes: Psi Healing Techniques You Should Know is a psychic manual that teaches the art of psychic healing. This is a course on healing with the use of psi, also known as energy healing. All things in the universe are made of psi. It follows that by learning to manipulate psi, you can exercise control over all things. This power can be used for various purposes, and it is a very powerful way to heal.

Considering the state of the modern world, it can be said that all of us are in need of real healing. True healing happens on all levels: physical, mental, emotional, and most importantly, on the spiritual level. The good news is that you already have the power to heal, and you just have to know how to use that power in the most effective way.

Psychic Classes: Psi Healing Techniques You Should Know gives the foundation that you need to exercise the power of healing. You can use this power to heal yourself and others. Healing with psi is not a new science or system. It has been in existence since ancient times. In fact, many of our ancestors relied heavily on psi healing for their health and general welfare. Sadly, this ancient art has been lost in the modern age. The good news is that this ancient art, this ancient and most veritable science, is still as effective today as it was thousands of years ago.

Psychic Classes: Psi Healing Techniques You Should Know is a course to get you started in the practice of psi healing, also known as energy healing. You can use the techniques in this book to heal yourself and others. We will discuss the essential principles, as well as practical exercises and techniques to finally get you started and immerse yourself in the world of psychic healing.

There are people who mistakenly think that the art of psi healing is only for those who are gifted; however, the truth is that psi healing is a learnable art. It is something that you can learn; and if you practice enough, you will surely be able to do it as well. It should be noted, however, that the way to learn the art of psi healing is through actual and repeated practice. It is not enough that you gain intellectual knowledge, but you must also put the teachings into actual practice.

May this book be your guiding light and lead you to the way of true initiation into the ancient art of psychism, especially with respect to its powers of healing. Indeed, healing is for all, and you deserve to be healed. Be healed today, change your life, and be free.

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 The start of human history is 50,000 years ago, when behaviorally modern man had evolved into anatomically modern man. This is an eminently reasonable starting point, as humans at this time were still inept at hunting and unable to travel far. But around 50,000 years ago, humans began to develop a more advanced toolkit. #2 Human coordination was achieved via language, which allowed knowledge to be transmitted to distant places and times and communicated about. With language, humans could also communicate about matters far away in time and place. #3 The life of hunter-gatherers was initially good, but the challenge of population growth was inevitable. People could try to prevent such pressure from emerging by limiting the number of pregnancies, but that did not solve the problem. #4 The first option, fighting, was not as bad as it sounds. Primitive man was far more warlike than contemporary man, and they had a high mortality rate from unnatural causes.

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 Cheap grace is the deadly enemy of our Church. It is the principle of grace as a doctrine, a principle, and a system. It means forgiveness of sins proclaimed as a general truth, and the love of God taught as the Christian conception of God. #2 Cheap grace is the justification of sin without the justification of the repentant sinner. It is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline, Communion without confession, and absolution without personal confession. #3 Costly grace is the Incarnation of God. It is costly because it calls us to follow Jesus Christ, and it is grace because it calls us to follow Jesus Christ. It is costly because it condemns sin, and grace because it justifies the sinner. #4 The Church of Rome was able to tolerate the monastic movement, and even use it to justify the secularization of its own life. Monasticism was thus a living protest against the Church’s secularization, but the Church was able to limit the application of the commandments of Jesus to a restricted group of specialists.

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 The Tudor dynasty maintained friendly relations with Spain, but when Henry VIII divorced his Spanish wife, Catherine of Aragon, and in defiance of the pope established the Church of England with himself as its head, relations between England and Spain became strained. #2 The relationship between England and Spain grew cooler during the half-hearted proposals that Philip marry Elizabeth, the daughter of Henry VIII and his second wife, Anne Boleyn. However, the situation changed gradually. #3 By the 1560s, Philip II was ruler of a vast empire, including Spain, Naples, Sicily, the East Indies, possessions in the Americas and the Netherlands. The Spanish economy was increasingly dependent on the resources of her New World settlements, particularly their gold and silver. #4 The attack on Hawkins was a major embarrassment for Elizabeth, and she had to respond. The subsequent uproar in England forced her to retaliate. She seized Spanish ships carrying 160,000 ducats, intended as pay for the Spanish Army of Flanders, and gave some indirect aid to the Dutch by seizing their ships.

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 The German mark, the British shilling, the French franc, and the Italian lira were all worth about the same in 1913. By the end of 1923, the mark had fallen almost ten times its size. The mark’s fall began gradually in the war years, 1914-1918, and accelerated in the 1920s. #2 In the winter of 1918-1919, the German, Austrian, and Hungarian economies underwent political revolutions following the deprivations of wartime and the crushing military defeat. Inflation exacerbated every problem, ruined every opportunity for national revival, and eventually produced the conditions in which extremists of Right and Left could raise the mob against the State. #3 The German inflation was both internal and external. It was caused by the Reichsbank’s creed of Mark gleich Mark - paper or gold, a mark is a mark is a mark. If prices went up, people demanded not a stable purchasing power for the marks they had, but more marks to buy what they needed. #4 The German revolution, which began as a military mutiny against the bungling of the Army’s leaders, had economic origins as well. Support for the Soldiers’ Councils which were forming in every unit stemmed from the financial hardships experienced by many of the soldiers and their families.

"Levels of the Call" is the second book in the "Spiritual Empowerment" four book series. It brings a continuation that was started in the first book, "Starting with the Basics", of the overview of the church functions by giving you insight on the roles and responsibilities of the leadership of the church. Although depending on your denomination they may not function exactly the same, this book will give you a Biblical explanation on them and different functions depending on how the church is set up.

It doesn't matter if you are a new babe in Christ, a pastor, leader, or long-time saint, you will be able to gain some knowledge out of these pages. You will be able to use the information in your new members' classes or other teaching settings for your congregations or just for your own personal knowledge.

Inside this book you will be given an overview on deacons/deaconesses, ministers and teachers, evangelist, elders, prophets, associate pastors, pastors, bishops and apostles. You will be able to answer the questions of what they are, what their responsibilities are, and what is their function.

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 The Chinese capital, Beijing, is surrounded by fields and villages that look exactly the same since the Middle Ages. In the Western view of the Chinese past, there is no equivalent of the fall of Rome, the Renaissance, or the Enlightenment. #2 The Chinese archaeologists dug holes across the fields and checked for signs of buried structures. They began excavating the underground city, and found a ninety-degree bend: a corner. They realized that it must have been a settlement wall, and continued tracing the boundary and other interior structures. #3 The Shang were a small political entity, but their cultural influence was much bigger. They were like if I bought McDonald’s here, you wouldn’t say that I’m in America. It’s the culture. #4 I was the last clipper at the Beijing Wall Street Journal bureau. I was paid five hundred American dollars every month. The small bureau was pleasant, with a smattering of languages echoing off the old tiled floors.

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 In 1971, the Israeli Defense Forces launched Operation Chameleon, in which they killed the leaders of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a terrorist group. The operation was planned by Meir Dagan, a young commander who had posed as Lebanese terrorists and met with the terrorist leaders. #2 Dagan was a stocky young man who had applied to join the most prestigious Israeli commando unit, Sayeret Matkal. He was sent to the Gaza strip in 1971, where he created the first undercover Israeli commando unit. They operated in Arab disguise to move freely in Arab crowds and reach their targets undetected. #3 Dagan was a man haunted by the suffering of his family and the Jews during the Holocaust. He dedicated his life to the defense of the newborn State of Israel. #4 Dagan was a retired general when he was asked to be the Mossad chief by Prime Minister Arik Sharon. The Mossad was losing steam, and several failures in the preceding years had dealt severe blows to its prestige.

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 Fascist history exists in many forms, from posters and T-shirts to books and articles that attempt to sanitize fascist history. They say little if anything about the class policies of fascist Italy and Nazi Germany. #2 Fascist leader Benito Mussolini was born in 1883. He had spent his early life fighting with socialists, and by the end of World War I, he had become a fascist, organized strikes for landowners and industrialists, and broke strikes on behalf of financiers. #3 In Germany, the Nazis were funded by business tycoons to terrorize workers and farm laborers, and in 1930, most of the tycoons had decided that the Weimar Republic no longer served their needs. They greatly increased their subsidies to Hitler, propelling the Nazi party onto the national stage. #4 Fascist politics and economics were similar in Italy and Germany, two countries with different histories, cultures, and languages. They ended up with the same repressive solutions because of the similarities of economic power and class conflict that existed in their respective countries.

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 The crucifixion of Jesus is the most obvious example of the violence at the heart of Roman rule. Romans crucified hundreds of thousands of those they conquered, and such government crucifixions were intentionally undertaken as public torture and terrorism. #2 The city of Rome’s domination began and ended with military conquest. Roman generals regularly raped enemy soldiers who survived their battles, and Roman citizens were not tortured, but no legal protections prevented conquered peoples from being tortured. #3 The Roman Empire was built on, and grew by, enslaving more and more people. Slavery was everywhere in Roman society, from the government to private individuals. #4 The Romans were a conquering empire that pillaged the art of Greece, the ancient treasures of Egypt, the silver mines in Spain, and the countryside from North Africa to Britain. But they were never satisfied. They always took tribute from conquered nations.

She had tried to concentrate on the unfamiliar shapes of words, and distinguish between the voices. She had tried to stand still, but she was restless. She wished she was out there playing. #2 The church service was long and tedious, and after it was complete, the women began their feast. They had been cooking for weeks, and the food was delicious. #3 The next morning, the bride was given a new underdress. Then another, for warmth and volume. The main dress was a mass of soft white muslin edged in red. A necklace, corded black silk wound round with delicate gold chains, so long on her eight-year-old body that its two stubby gold crowns swung well below her waist. #4 The slave girl, Wul?, walked alongside the bridal party.
Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 The meaning and value of human life has become more difficult to speak about since the war. We must ask ourselves: Can we still use these words today. Has not the very meaning of these words become questionable. #2 We cannot move toward a spiritual reconstruction while maintaining this type of fatalism. We must overcome it. We cannot blindly trust in progress anymore, because today we know what human beings are capable of. #3 During the last few years, we have seen the world become a very different place. But what has not changed is the fact that the human being is what remains, and that everything else has fallen away from him. #4 The meaning of life is to be found in the act of being, not in words or books. We must counter the negative propaganda of recent times, the propaganda of Non-Sense, with another propaganda that is active and individual.

Sample Book Insights: #1 I became interested in the government’s racial policies in the San Francisco Bay Area during World War II, when the area was home to the most extensive shipbuilding complex in the nation. #2 During World War II, the influx of workers in Richmond, California, resulted in the city’s black population soaring from 270 to 14,000. #3 The federal government built public housing for African Americans in Richmond, which was segregated. The housing was poorly constructed and intended to be temporary, but it remained that way for decades. #4 During World War II, the government collaborated with private groups to segregate Richmond.
Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 Georgia House minority leader Stacey Abrams was ready for Trump in 2020, and she had been preparing for this moment since she was a teenager. She’d spent the past three years building a voting rights group, a fundraising operation, and a team of aides and advisers to help her not-so-quietly make senior party officials aware that she was running for governor. #2 In Georgia, Democrats were in need of a new leader after years of demoralizing defeats. Stacey Abrams was known for her outspokenness and ability to energize Democrats, but she was also known as a behind-the-scenes operator who was skilled at picking apart Republican talking points. #3 Georgia had always been a one-party state dominated by Democrats, and this remained the case throughout most of the twentieth century. Black leaders who tried to influence the Democratic Party were often looked down upon. #4 Georgia was a prime example of how the Democrats’ armor could be pierced. In 1980, Carter easily won Georgia, but was shellacked in much of the rest of the country. In 1990, a congenial congressman and onetime Atlanta councilman named Wyche Fowler rebuilt the Democratic alliance between rural white conservatives and Black voters to defeat Mattingly.

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 In the final days of 1999, just as he had each December for several years, Konstantin Ernst prepared to film the presidential New Year’s address. Yeltsin asked him to film it on New Year’s Eve at five in the morning. #2 On the last day of the twentieth century, Yeltsin announced his resignation from the presidency. His successor would be Vladimir Putin, a politician who most Russians were just getting to know. #3 The next order of business was to film a New Year’s address by Putin, which would air at midnight. Putin’s face looked young and taut on camera, while Yeltsin looked extremely unwell. #4 Ernst, the president of Channel One, was born in 1961, the scion of a notable family within the Soviet scientific establishment. My sister, Sylvia, was born in 1947, and this event provided my mother with the grounds to finally divorce my father for his adultery. #2 I grew up in a small town in Scotland, surrounded by cold and hostility. I was raised by my mother, grandmother, and aunt, who were all very religious. I was often screamed at, and I cried a lot. #3 My grandfather, who had taken a liking to me, had a traumatic impact on my early development. He was a good man, but he had a secret life of sexual abuse that he couldn’t control. #4 I had lost the good aspect of my grandfather as well as the painful trauma of his abuse. I had wished him gone, and he had gone, leaving behind the stark memory of the uncertain fact of his disappearance. I was told that he was in heaven, but I knew not where that was.

She was irritable and unhappy for reasons she couldn’t understand. She rarely called her friends anymore and was not interested in going anywhere other than work. #2 The attachment system is a biologically based system that is oriented toward seeking protection and maintaining proximity to the attachment figure in response to real or perceived threat or danger. The child gradually develops stable patterns of defense and affect regulation that adapt to the caregiving environment. #3 The developmental research literature has identified four patterns of adult attachment: autonomous, avoidant, preoccupied, and unresolved. Adults who are autonomous, secure in their relationships, present a balanced, consistent, and objective view of early relationships. In contrast, adults who are avoidant or preoccupied with their past relationships demonstrate discomfort with the discussion of such experiences. #4 The typical course of life involves excluding information that is defensively excluded. This occurs when the child’s attachment behavior is strongly aroused, but is responded to inadequately by the parent.
Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 The Italian kingdom, which encompassed most of southern Italy, annexed Sicily in 1860. The island had a long-standing reputation as a revolutionary powder keg. The incorporation of 2. 4 million Sicilians into the new nation brought about an epidemic of conspiracy, robbery, murder, and score-settling. #2 The Italian government tried to pacify Sicily by using the military, but the situation failed to improve. In 1866, there was another revolt in Palermo, similar to the one that had overthrown the Bourbons. It was quelled, but it took ten more years for Sicily to become part of Italy. #3 The mafia began in the 1860s, when the Italian government heard about it for the first time. The mafia and Italy were born together, as the Italian government discovered the name and used it to describe the phenomenon. #4 The mafia was not born in the 1800s, but in the 1860s. It was developed in an area that is still its heartland, in the dark green coastal strip near Palermo.

Sample Book Insights: #1 The story of Holmes’s journey toward enlightenment is a tale of how he spent the majority of his life as a judge, and how he enjoyed it. He was a judge because it gave him the opportunity to indulge his taste for abstraction, while still being able to keep his hands clean. #2 Holmes’s reputation was mixed in 1918. He was a great judge, but he was also a bit obscure, and he provided insufficient guidance to lower courts. He was beginning to feel as though his life’s work had been worthwhile. #3 The war was a source of strain for Holmes, as he had no qualms about the United States’ entry into the European conflict. He avoided the newspapers, and tried not to talk or write about the war. He spent his time renewing his boyhood passion for art. #4 The second case was an appeal from a Toledo newspaper that had been convicted of contempt by a federal judge for questioning his handling of a pending case. Holmes argued that the conviction was unjustified, but his argument was that federal law required the judge to submit the matter to a jury rather than render the verdict himself.
