2025/5/9 発売輸入盤レーベル: ACROBAT収録曲:Johnny Cash - The Complete Columbia Albums 1958-62 / Johnny Cash broke the mould of country and rockabilly music in the mid-1950s, readily transcending the genres to have over 40 pop and country hits between his 1955 debut and 1962, including five country No. 1s. However, after he moved from Sun to Columbia in 1958, he released albums on a regular basis and became a major album seller. This 89-track 3-CD collection comprises all the tracks from eight of his original vinyl LPs on Columbia from these years. It features "The Fabulous Johnny Cash", "Hymns", "Songs Of Our Soil", "Now, There Was A Song", "Ride This Train", "Hymns From The Heart", "The Sound Of Johnny Cash" and "Blood Sweat & Tears". The music ranges from mainstream pop/country, featuring many of Johnny's original songs, to country songs with a religious message, and material that harks back to pioneer roots, some with spoken narratives. It's a varied and enjoyable showcase for one of the true originals of the era, and captures the many facets of his talent and outlook in a substantial overview of this key period in his career.(ジョニーキャッシュ)

This great-value 113-track collection covers the year of 1961, during which time Billboard published a country Top 30 called Hot C&W Sides, and it comprises every record which appeared in the top 22 places in that chart during the year, excluding one or two records which are unavailable for copyright reasons. Despite the fact that the pop landscape had been transformed over the preceding years by rock 'n' roll and it's aftermath, and with the new decade the British Invasion was only a couple of years away, the charts still had a familiar look about them for country fans, with many traditional established country stars well-represented, like Ernest Tubb, Webb Pierce, Kitty Wells and Ray Price, although the smoother Nashville sound certainly characterised many of the hits and there was more than a smattering of artists who enjoyed big crossover hits, notably Leroy Van Dyke returning to the charts with his long-running No. 1 "Walk On By", as well as Jim Reeves, Marty Robbins, Hank Locklin, and Faron Young. There were also some hot new kids on the block like Buck Owens, Roy Drusky, and Jimmy Dean, along with some collectable obscurities among the one-hit wonders. It's a fascinating and entertaining musical snapshot of the country scene during a dynamic era, and with an in-depth 12,000+ word booklet with background notes on every record, it gives a solid overview of the most popular country music of the year.

This great value100-track 4-CD collection goes back to the start of the 1950s, when the relevant Billboard chart was called the Best Selling Retail Folk (Country & Western) Records, and apart from a few weeks at the start of the year, when there was a Top 15, was restricted to a published Top 10. The collection comprises many of the records which appeared in the chart during the year. Although there were many records which harked back to the styles of traditional hillbilly and western swing music, many of the artists featured were those who had established themselves during the late 1940s and would enjoy prolific hit-making careers during the '50s until the business changed significantly in the wake of the rock 'n' roll explosion. Artists like Hank Williams, Eddy Arnold, Red Foley, Ernest Tubb and Tennessee Ernie Ford are therefore well represented along with many artists whose musical legacy is less well-known these days, as well as pop artists like Margaret Whiting and Kay Starr making forays into the genre through duets with country stars, which makes it a fascinating snapshot of the business as a new decade dawned. With an in-depth 10,000+ word booklet with background notes on every record, it gives a solid overview of the most popular country music of the year. This release continues the series which we re-established a couple of years ago and which comprises selected annual collections of the biggest US country hits of each year. Despite the fact that his recording career was restricted to no more than five years, the impact and influence of his music has resonated through country, pop and rock since has tragically early death in 1953 at the age of 29. During that brief career, and also posthumously, he had 35 country chart hits, including no less than eleven No. 1s, including landmark songs like "Lovesick Blues", "Hey Good Lookin'", "Jambalaya", the disturbingly prophetic "I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive" and "Your Cheating Heart". He was very much a pioneer of the honky-tonk style which was a key strand of country music during the '40s and beyond, and which he lived out in his tempestuous life, and his songs have been recorded by hosts of artists across the genres down the years. This great value 103-track 4 CD set comprises the A and B sides of all his releases, from his debut on the Sterling label in 1947, and through his years with the MGM label and the posthumous releases up to 1955. It also includes the releases he made under the name of Luke The Drifter. It's a comprehensive overview of his work, and a worthy showcase for a unique talent.Hank Williams was, quite simply, one of the most important artists, as a singer, songwriter and performer, not just in country music but in the entire landscape of American popular music during the post-war decades. He made his first records in 1933, going on to have a recording career that lasted four decades, and after his screen debut in 1936 in western movies, made more than 70 films through to the mid-1970s. He is best known on record for his pop hits with "High Noon (Do Not Forsake Me)", the theme song of the landmark 1952 movie "High Noon", "The Wayward Wind" in 1956 and "I Dreamed Of A Hillbilly Heaven" in 1962. This great-value 77-track 3-CD set comprises recordings on the Vocalion, Champion and Decca labels from the 1930s, and then, when he was one of the first signings to the newly-founded Capitol label, further selected A & B sides from the 1940s and '50s, the heyday of his career, and through to the early '60s. He was known as "The Texas Troubadour", a name he also gave to his band, which always comprised the cream of Nashville's musicians, notably, in the early days, Jimmy Short, who developed the single-string picking style that characterised Tubbs' recordings. His many hits included the original versions of songs that became iconic country standards, such as "Blue Christmas", popularised by Elvis Presley, and "I Love You Because", later a huge hit for Jim Reeves. This great value 71-track 3-CD collection comprises every Ernest Tubb's record which featured in the US country or pop charts during the two decades and more which it covers, including his hit duets with Red Foley, The Andrews Sisters and The Wilburn Brothers. It's a definitive snapshot of the core hit career of one of the true pioneers of modern Nashville country.Ernest Tubb was one of biggest and most influential stars in the history of country music, his hit-making career covering nearly four decades as he racked up around 90 country and pop chart entries, beginning with his landmark "Walking The Floor Over You"
